10 cities in the final round

• Out of the 52 participating cities, an independent jury made up of representatives from the media, business, academia and politics chose 10 candidates for the final round: Arnsberg, Coburg, Frankfurt (Oder), Friedrichshafen, Görlitz, Kaiserslautern, Kamp-Lintfort, Neuruppin, Osterholz-Scharmbeck and Schwäbisch Hall.
