More service for parents: The Internet portal “KindergartenOnline” is being launched in T-City.

More service for parents: The Internet portal “KindergartenOnline” is being launched in the T-City Friedrichshafen.

From now on, all 33 day care centers in Friedrichshafen will use the web-based information portal “KindergartenOnline”, which T-City developed together with representatives from the day care centers. The modular solution electronically represents all processes concerning the allocation of child day care places. This not only facilitates organization in the day care centers, but also makes it easier and more convenient for parents to choose the day care center and register their children.

Choosing day care centerson the Internet

Instead of visiting every day care center in the surrounding area in person, parents can now easily obtain information about the various establishments on the Internet. “At www.kindergarten.friedrichshafen.de, parents will find a detailed presentation of all day care centers”, the Mayor, Peter Hauswald, explains. “They can see for themselves exactly where the establishments are and what opening times the day care centers offer.” When parents have found one or more establishments which appeal to them, at the click of a mouse they can reserve a maximum of three day care centers. According to the prioritization by the parents, the request is then sent to the first day care center. If this one has no more free places, the request is forwarded from this day care center to the next one. “The entire selection and registration process is therefore much more transparent and convenient for parents”, the Mayor, Peter Hauswald, says to summarize the benefits of the portal.

Central data recording enables reliable planning

Thanks to KindergartenOnline, life is also easier for the day care centers. This is because all the establishments in the city now record their registrations centrally on one platform. Both the day care centers themselves and the municipal administration therefore continually have an overview of which children are registered where and what the requirement for child day care places in Friedrichshafen actually is. Furthermore, using the web-based system, the day care centers can electronically record and evaluate all the master data of the children, contracts, fees or funding measures. Planning processes such as compiling individual groups or dividing up staff can also be represented with KindergartenOnline. Another benefit for the day care centers is that T-City provides the system centrally over the Internet. The day care centers therefore do not need to install any software themselves. They simply need a laptop and Internet access.

“KindergartenOnline can in principle be transferred to any other city in Germany”, says Ferdinand Tempel, Head of the T-City Representative Office. “We therefore see this solution as a further important impulse for the nationwide modernization of administration.”
