Digital networking is already commonplace throughout many spheres of life. Experts expect this trend to continue to rise.
Deutsche Telekom is one of the key players helping to shape this development, with a range of products and services designed to permanently enhance quality of life.

A connected lifestyle can make day-to-day living much simpler, encourage better exchange of information, make it easier to cultivate private and work contacts, and achieve a better work-life. Deutsche Telekom is committed to ensuring that our various life spheres are connected in a responsible, safe manner.
Networking enhances quality of lifeMany people already use Net-based solutions to organize their day-to-day lives conveniently and individually. Banking, travel bookings, the purchase of cinema or concert tickets – many everyday transactions can now be completed quickly and easily at any time of the day or night, thanks to online solutions. Digitization and networking also make it easy to keep in touch with the people and issues closest to our hearts at all times. The fusion between fixed-network and mobile communications offers a range of new opportunities here.
Examples include reading e-mails on TV, viewing and sending photographs and videos via your cell phone, or cultivating social networks while on the move. As well as supporting individual lifestyles, networking also encourages sustainability. ICT-based solutions can render many journeys unnecessary, save resources through digitization, or make knowledge available to everyone without barriers. In order to enable as many people as possible to take part in digital life, ICT solutions from Deutsche Telekom are designed to be user-friendly and easy to operate. The high quality and bandwidth of our networks provide the basis for connected life and work.
Work-life Improving work-life is a key challenge when it comes to connecting different spheres of life. Since 1999, Deutsche Telekom has offered its employees the opportunity to work from home in the so-called home office. Thanks to digitization and networking, this option is becoming ever more attractive and effective. Telephone and data conferencing allow entire teams to work together, regardless of location. Part-time work and flexitime accounts are another way of allowing Deutsche Telekom employees to individualize their lifestyles. It is even possible to temporarily opt out of working altogether.
Magyar Telekom stays connected to employees during parental or maternity leave, making it easier for them to return to work later on. The "Young Mothers’ Program" is based on four pillars: stay-at-home mothers receive regular e-mails to keep them in the loop about the latest company developments. Meanwhile, a digital job exchange provides up-to-date information on vacancies within the Group. Once a year, Magyar Telekom organizes a joint event for all parents who stay at home to look after their children. The last event in 2008 was enjoyed by 65 young mothers and 61 children. Deutsche Telekom also provides all mothers in Hungary with a comprehensive information pack explaining the programs and benefits they are eligible for and how to apply.
