While the project T-City is controlled by the headquarters of Deutsche Telekom in Bonn, the representative office provides the T-City project with "a face" for the people of Friedrichshafen: Whether residents, traders, project partners, business customers or people from the areas of administration, politics and associations are looking for information – anyone who is interested in T-City can contact the representative office directly with their questions.
The T-City representative office maintains constant close contact with project partners, project fields and interested parties, which enables it to handle the complex interplay of politics, companies, institutions, medicine, technology and society. The shared project headquarters of the City of Friedrichshafen and Deutsche Telekom is home to employees from both institutions who work closely together, thus simplifying coordination.
An important function of the T City representative office is to communicate and raise awareness of the objectives and content of the T-City project. To do so, employees maintain ongoing contact with the media and organize regular information events. The representative office uses T-City ambassadors to ensure residents are provided with comprehensive information. These ambassadors are residents of Friedrichshafen and the surrounding area who are available to provide information on the various projects and can be individually booked by clubs and institutions. The representative office also offers a walk-in appointments for senior citizens concerning modern communications and information technology. What is more, residents themselves can get in touch with their own project proposals. If they meet the T-City project criteria, they are reviewed for feasibility and implemented subject to agreement by the partners.
