Innovation for a liveable city

With around 58,000 inhabitants, Friedrichshafen is situated centrally in the border triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With 28,000 jobs, the city is an important business location on Lake Constance.

Friedrichshafen is also an important employer in the region. International companies based there include MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Dornier GmbH and Zeppelin GmbH. With the construction of the Zeppelin airship and the first take-off on July 2, 1900, Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin sparked Friedrichshafen’s development into a strong location for business and technology.

The city’s new exhibition center boasts around 70,000 square meters of exhibition space and over 600,000 visitors a year. In addition to the international trade fair center and a top quality conference hotel business, the "Graf-Zeppelin-Haus" convention center is at the heart of congresses and cultural events.

Bodensee Airport offers tourists and business travelers everything they could wish for. Scheduled and charter flights to German and European business metropolises and popular vacation destinations depart every day.

The focus of sport is the ARENA Friedrichshafen. It provides ideal training conditions for organized and school sports as well as competitive sports - in particular the internationally successful VfB Friedrichshafen volleyball team who won the Champions League in 2007.

Tourism also plays a significant role in Friedrichshafen. The lake, the shoreline and the numerous cultural events in the city offer everything you could want for an unforgettable holiday.

Friedrichshafen is particularly proud of being Germany's first T-City. The aim of the T-City project is to enhance the quality of life and attractiveness of the region by using the latest information and communication technologies.
